Milford TV Winter Dropoff

MOVED DUE TO SNOWSTORM! Every two months we rotate the art show at the Milford TV Station. We generally arrange our drop-offs on the last Thursday of the month preceding the show, but to avoid the Christmas/New Year issue for this one we slide it forward a week. The drop-off for the upcoming January-February 2018 show on the theme of “Winter Magic” is WEDNESDAY JANUARY 10th from 6-8pm. Our special feature for this Saturday will be CARD CREATION. This will help you prepare for the many summertime festivals. Bring in your 4×6 photos or artwork items. We’ll have the supplies on hand to help you turn those into cards. You can either use the slide-into-frame variety or the glue-on-front variety. We’ll have plastic bags, too. You’ll just pay the base cost for the supplies you use. It ranges between 30 cents to $1 or so per card, depending in you go with the inexpensive or fancy style. We’ll have a range to choose from.

The Art of Yoga – Yoga in the Art Gallery

Yoga enhances insight and fosters calm relaxation. Art fills us with inspiration and lifts us to a higher level. The entwining of yoga and art brings your creativity and energy into harmony!

Talented yoga instructor and BVAA member Christine Beauchaine hosts a weekly yoga class at the BVAA Uxbridge Gallery at 5 South Main Street. The classes are held Saturdays from 3-4pm. The gallery is open for painting and relaxation from 10am to 3pm on Saturdays, so feel free to come early for the art and then stay for the yoga!

Millbury Bike Path Photography Workshop
10am - noon We’re meeting at the MIDDLE Millbury bike path parking lot. It is immediately across the street from the Valu Gas Station at: 1255 Millbury Street Worcester, MA
Come on out for a free, fun photography workshop along the Blackstone River!

The Millbury Bike Path is part of the plans for a long bike path / walking path / celebration of the entire Blackstone River from Worcester, MA to Pawtucket, RI. The stretch which is complete in the Millbury area starts at a parking lot near the Blackstone Shoppes mall complex and goes north along the river to the parking lot with the WalMart in Worcester.

It’s quite an interesting bike path. It wends along the Blackstone River quite a lot, so you get good images of the ducks, turtles, beavers, and other creatures. There are a number of train bridges and walking bridges to get photos of.

Plus, the Blackstone River goes right along the train lines here, so there’s ample opportunity to get cool photos or drawings of the trains in various configurations.

On our first two trips here we did the southern stretch of the trail, so this time we’ll do the northern stretch.

Autumn Splendour Milford TV
6-8pm The Milford TV Station is at: 138 South Main Street Milford, MA
Every two months we rotate the art show at the Milford TV Station. We arrange our drop-offs on the last Thursday of the month preceding the show. The drop-off for the upcoming September-October 2018 show on the theme of “Autumn Splendour” is Thursday, August 30th from 6-8pm.

This date is also the reception (and take down) for the existing “Good Ole Summertime” show. Please try to wait until the end of the evening before you take your art off the walls. That way people who come to the reception to see the show are able to see all the art. If you’re not able to make it for the reception date, please wait until after the reception to stop by and retrieve your art.

The public is warmly welcome and encouraged to attend the art reception!
