Davis Gallery Call to Artists – Nonobjective Now

New England Artists Explore Abstraction

The Davis Art Gallery is seeking abstract artwork for our next juried exhibit: Nonojbective NOW. Various 2D and 3D media will be selected for the exhibit, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, photography, fiber arts, and more.

The gallery will select approximately 35–45 artworks that will appear in the main exhibition space at the gallery from September 22, 2017 through January 5, 2018. An opening reception will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Entry Deadline: August 21, 2017

About the Davis Art Gallery:
The gallery is located in the Printer’s Building at 44 Portland Street, Worcester, MA 01608. The mission of the gallery is to advocate for the awareness of art in the vibrant Worcester community, as well as promote artists and provide a venue for showing their work in the downtown Worcester Arts District.

Once again we’re seeking photos that highlight people in nature and the beauty of Massachusetts wildlife and landscapes.

We can’t wait to see what you have in store for us this year! Find everything you need to know about how and what to enter. For those who have entered before, we have updated the submission guidelines along with the prizes.

Open Call Artists & Prospectus

TITLE :
“ Art in Motion” September, 6 – October, 1 2017,
Opening Reception: Saturday, September, 9 2017, 7 – 9 PM

THEME: “Motion” Mixed Media, 2D & 3D works that move or appear to; optical illusion, kinetic or motor driven, spring loaded, gear powered, steam punk and mobiles. September is a festive month in downtown Lowell with the Arts and Makers festival and Kinetic Sculpture Race, both taking place right outside our front door. As part of the Lowell down town scene Gallery Z is excited to announce this call for artists and leaving the creativity to you.
WORK REQUIREMENTS: 2 & 3 D, mixed Media, you can submit up to 3 works, 2 D works, framed or un-framed with edges finished and wired. 3 D work if special installation is required artists must install. All work submitted will be accepted with the discretion of the gallery curator. You will be notified if you need to pick up un accepted work by email.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: by August 21st 2017, please send all submissions materials to: pattydistefano@gmail.com,

SUBMISSION FEE: Non-members $30.00 for up to 3 works. Submission fee must be received with your entry form. Gallery Z is currently accepting, Co-op and supporting membership for 2017

SALES: Gallery Z receives a 30% commission on all sales made in this exhibition. Payment for work sold will be made no later than 15 days after the close of the exhibit. We will deduct the credit card fees from your total.

CONDITIONS: Submission of all work to this exhibition must be created by the artist and not resale of or submitted for someone else. Work must be clean and dust free

INSURANCE AND LIABILITY: Gallery Z carries insurance to cover damage or loss while the art work is on our premises. Every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure protection and careful handling of work.

DELIVERY: Please drop off your work to Gallery Z, 167 Market St., Lowell, MA, between August 28th & September 4th 2017 from 12-5 pm. If you are unable to make it in at these times, please make arrangements in advance by contacting Patty DiStefano Donahue at pattydistefano@gmail.com.

BVAA Spring Show Reception

Hi Everyone

We head some great entries for our Spring Show and a really nice reception this afternoon at the Blackstone Valley Visitors Centre in Pawtucket, RI.
