Exhibit Dates: June 4 – June 30, 2016

Juried for Entry & Awards – Cash & Ribbons
Artists may submit any medium, including 3 dimensional work, except for photography and computer generated artwork. No theme.
Maximum Size: 2-D works: 150 inches total circumference, including frame.
3-D works must not exceed 50 pounds weight and 150 inches total circumference.

Drop off Dates: Saturday, May 28, 2016 through Wednesday, June 1, 2016 12 – 4:30 pm daily.
Non-Selected Works Pick Up Dates: Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 5, 12 – 4:30 pm daily.
Selected Works Pick Up Dates: Wednesday, June 30, 2016 through Sunday July 3, 2016 , 12 – 4:30 pm daily.

Fee: 1 Entry – $25
Commission: 30%

This is a local meet-up which visits a variety of local spots to paint and critique. Here’s the details of their upcoming meeting.

June 6th, 2016, rain or shine

Destination: Wayside Inn, Sudbury MA
Time: Morning

Meet up @ 11:30 am, rain or shine, for lunch followed by a critique of the days work. There is plenty of parking with a lot to the back side of the Inn and one across the street from the Inn.
Where: Inside the Inn, Dining Hall

As always we meet at the Inn for the first and last gathering.

There are so many places to paint there so if you don’t know what the grounds have to offer please arrives early and have a walk around.
You may ask …How early…as early as you can make it. 8 am is a good time to arrive and will give you time to paint and deal with your gear. The morning and late afternoon light is the best.

I’m going to try to arrive around 7 am to paint a spot that has lovely light.

You can also Google the Inn to get a sense of the history and events they host. Plus some great pictures

Lunch is not mandatory but it’s a great way to connect with fellow painters.

If your planning to join us for lunch please let me know now, as I will need a head count for the hostess.

In case of rain bring your dry materials for sketching and meet up in the tavern. It’s a bit dark but very do able.

Also, there may be a call out from time to time for unscheduled plein air gatherings which may be happening at other days of the week.

The Brush Gallery in Lowell, MA is holding its reception for their show TELLING AMERICA’S STORIES: 100 Years of the National Park Service this Sunday, June 5th, 2016 from 2-4pm. This show features artwork from around the US including locals from Massachusetts and New Hampshire as well as art in from Florida, Wisconsin, Indiana, New Mexico, and more. It was curated by a team including a National Park senior curator and a professor at RISD.

BVAA members Anne McNevin and Lisa Shea are both in this show – if I missed anyone else let us know!

On Sunday, June 5th, 2016, there’s an afternoon of horse and farm photography from 12-4pm in Saunderstown, Rhode Island. It’s part of an art-themed meetup group. If you live near the Rhode Island area and are interested in horses you might want to join up!

ArtsWorcester members can participate in The Fourth Annual “One,” their summer members’ exhibit. Bring the single piece you want to exhibit most, regardless of medium or theme. The usual size and weight limitations apply (available on the submission page).

This year, $500 in awards will be divided among three artists exhibiting in One. Jon Seydl, Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Worcester Art Museum, will select the prize winners.

Delivery of artwork: June 2, 3, and 4, 12:00 to 4:00 PM and by appointment
Opening Reception: June 10, 2016
