Street Photography on Shrewsbury Street

Join the BVAA for a fun evening of exploration, neon signs, sparkling bars, and Christmas decor on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester, Massachusetts! We’ll be doing street photography starting at 6pm on Wednesday, December 30th. That’ll have a mix of patrons going to the restaurants, the Christmas lights still shining, neon lights, a range of restaurant styles, and it shouldn’t be too chilly, either!

Let Lisa know if you’re interested in participating so she knows to watch for you.

Here are some famous street photographers to read about, to get in the mood –

Weegee

Henri Cartier-Bresson

Robert Frank

Whether you’re experienced with your camera or brand new to it, we’ll help you figure out the settings to capture the image you dream of.

Come on and join us!

Cyanotype Exhibit

The Worcester Art Museum is holding a cyanotype exhibit from Jan 16 to Apr 24 – we’re planning on visiting it for their opening reception on Thursday, February 18th from 6-8pm.

They’ll have music, food, drink, and the artists on hand to talk with us about how they made their works of art!

Let us know if you’re interested in coming along.

Tower Hill Winter Reimagined

Gorgeous lights and colors bring Tower Hill to a wintry wonderland. We’re going on a field trip this Thursday, December 3rd. The plan is to meet in the lobby at 5:30pm and then begin exploring. We’ll re-meet at Twigs (the cafe) at 7:30pm for warm-up and social.

Thank you to Dennis for suggesting this fun idea! He recommends a tripod and spare battery. He also suggests that bringing exact change, for those paying cash, is a help to the Tower Hill folks.

We’ll play with a variety of night photography ideas!

I’ve checked with my library and it doesn’t seem that passes are accepted for this event. Prices are:

Members: Free
Adults: $15
Seniors (65 and over): $10
Youth 6-18: $5
Children 5 and under: Free
