Tapestry Call for Submissions

The 2015 Tapestry show at the Alternatives Community Gallery in Uxbridge, MA has out a call for submissions! You can submit up to three works for no charge. The theme is community.

The painting shown is the winner from the 2014 Tapestry show, by BVAA member Frank Robertson.

From their brochure:

“For the 15th year, community members have come together for Tapestry, an event that celebrates the richness and strength of artistic diversity within the fabric of our communities!

Tapestry weaves our community together by celebrating the work of artists of all abilities. In past years, up to 22 venues throughout downtown Uxbridge have displayed as many as 300 Tapestry artworks. We welcome individuals and groups of all ages and levels of artistic ability to submit their work.

Paintings, photography, ceramics, sculptures, graphics, and any other forms of art you would like to share with your neighbors can be included in Tapestry.”

Deadline for submission is November 6, 2015.

Opening reception is Friday, November 13 from 4-7pm.

Pickup is any time after December 18th. Call ahead to make sure someone will be there when you want to stop by.

Cirque de Noir – Sprinkler Factory

October 17, 2015 will showcase the 2015 Cirque de Noir art event! This is held at the Sprinkler Factory in Worcester, MA. It runs from 7-11pm and dress is all black. It features a number of fun events including a paint-rotation where there are perhaps five artists in front of five easels. They paint for a little while then all slide one easel right. They work on that painting for a little while then all slide right again. It’s lots of fun to see how the paintings evolve!

The Twenty-First Century Body Art Exhibition @ WPI

Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA is holding an exhibition focused on The Twenty-First Century Body. It showcases a range of interpretations of that theme. It’s being held in conjunction with the Fortieth Annual Meeting of the International Merleau-Ponty Circle. The show runs October 1st through November 6th.

The opening reception is being held at Alden Hall on the main WPI campus on Friday, October 2nd, 2015 from 6:30-8:30pm. All are welcome to attend! Alden Hall is a red brick church-like building located here –
