Blackstone Valley Art Association – February 2016 News

Welcome to February!
Our world finally has that snowy look of winter to it. And the roads are clear in time for the Claflin Hill concert tonight! The theme is romance:

Prokofiev: Romeo & Juliet
Tchaikovsky: Romeo & Juliet
Hanson: Symphony No. 2, “The Romantic”

The concert is from 7:30-10pm at the Milford Town Hall and features artwork from the Blackstone Valley Art Association. Come on out tonight for music and art!

Choco l’Art
Our chocolate-filled Choco l’Art show is coming up with its reception on Saturday, February 13th from 9am to 2pm. Share the news and stop on by! The show runs through February 19th. It’s at the Whitinsville Social Library.

Art Feedback Workshop
Our monthly meetings are open to the public and are supported by grants. February’s meeting will be about providing feedback for any works in progress. Since February can be snowy, please be sure to check our website or social media in case of snow or bad weather.

Palette Contest
Alternatives is having their 4th annual Palette Contest. If you haven’t gotten your palette yet, you have until February 19th to grab one. Full details:

Milford TV Station Show
Also in Milford for the month of February is the BVAA’s “Black and White” show. The station is open most days – check their website for exact times.

Uber “Portrait” Show
The Uber Cafe in Mendon is hosting the BVAA’s “Portrait” show featuring the works of Al Weems, Donna Manley, and Julie Merritt.

Anything Goes Photography Show
Make sure you stop in to see our Anything Goes photography show by February 25th. This is located at the Alternatives on South Main Street in Uxbridge. There is both film photography and digital photography featured here!

Plein Air Site Suggestions
We’re planning out a variety of plein air sessions in the coming months. If you know of any plein air locations, especially in Sutton, please let us know! Just respond to this email with any details.
