The BVAA is an organization which relies on dues, grants and corporate donations in order to cover expenses incurred in holding events and meetings.
The number of events we will present depends on our income and budget. We generally pay for our monthly workshop instructors through the dues we receive from members. Additional workshops are paid for with grants from local cultural councils.
When we run an art show, the money we take in for submissions for that art show then pays for the judge, ribbons, and prizes awarded at that art show. Art shows don’t “make us money” – they are self-supporting. So the prizes awarded depends on the number of entries.
The BVAA is a grateful recipient of grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
