Impasto Painting at River Bend Farm

12pm - 4pm 287 Oak Street Uxbridge, MA 01569 Our very own talented artist Laura Cenedella will lead us through a workshop on impasto painting at River Bend Farm in Uxbridge! Impasto involves using very thick paint – often by adding in a gel or other material – to create a raised 3D effect with the paint. Here’s a page about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impasto Details: http://bvaa.org/2019/04/09/impasto-painting-at-river-bend-farm-5-5-19/

    Monthly Meeting - May

6:30-9pm BVAA Alternatives / Open Sky Uxbridge Community Gallery 5 South Main Street Uxbridge, MA 01569 Annual Spring Pot Luck Dinner! Our monthly meeting for May is traditionally our "end of year" pot luck dinner. This is when we vote on incoming officers for the upcoming 2019-2020 season and celebrate all the fun art we've done. NOTE: We are still in the planning stages for this. We may be moving to the Northbridge Senior Center to fit everyone. We will share more details as we get closer. Save the date, though! Our May 2019 monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 21st from 6:30-9pm. http://bvaa.org/2019/01/07/may-2019-monthly-meeting-spring-pot-luck/

    Celebrating Uxbridge

10am - 3pm 5 South Main Street Uxbridge, MA 01569 Uxbridge, MA was settled way back in 1662. Did you know it was once part of Mendon? Uxbridge is famous for providing rights to the very first colonial woman voter, Lydia Taft! And a feisty Uxbridge woman, Deborah Sampson, posed as a man to fight in the American Revolution! Celebrate that spirit of all that makes Uxbridge amazing on Saturday, June 1st, 2019. We’re turning downtown Uxbridge into a festival of music, artwork, gifts, laughter, and much, much more. There’ll be a DJ, live paintings, origami, and adventure! Local authors will be signing books! All ages welcome, and it’s free! Monthly Meeting - Jun

6:30-9pm BVAA Alternatives / Open Sky Uxbridge Community Gallery 5 South Main Street Uxbridge, MA 01569 Creativity I Summertime is a busy time for many of our artists, so we keep our summer workshops light and fun. The workshop will involve Carol Frieswick’s book and card set “The Artist’s Muse – Unlock the Door to Your Creativity”. There are bunches of cards with all sorts of challenges and prompts to get you thinking out of the box with your art. We’ll have watercolors, acrylics, pastels, paper, and brushes on hand. If you have a preferred medium feel free to bring along your own paints, pastels, pencils, or camera. We will tackle the creative challenges with whatever we like to work with. Or, heck, if you normally work in one media, try changing over to another to see how it goes! Our June 2019 monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 18th from 6:30-9pm. http://bvaa.org/2019/01/07/june-2019-monthly-meeting-creativity-i/
